Use IBKR Mobile's IB Key on your iPhone to:
To pre-authorize a Debit Mastercard purchase
Use this feature to ensure a planned purchase is not denied. Depending on the vendor, your pre-authorized amount will be valid from one hour up to 30 days.
On your mobile phone, open IBKR Mobile.
a. If your phone opens to the trading app login page, tap Services in the top left corner.
Tap Pre-Authorize at the bottom of the card window.
Note: If you have multiple cards, select the card you want and then tap Pre-Authorize.
Note: Standard purchases are those that will take place immediately. To pre-authorize purchases from approved merchants that may wait to charge your card until the purchase ships, e.g. Amazon, select the appropriate type.
Tap Pre-Authorize. The phone will ask you to confirm your identity using Touch ID. When complete, you will receive a "successful" or "unsuccessful" message:
If successful, the message will advise you on the length of time you have to complete your purchase.
If unsuccessful, your account may have insufficient funds to make your purchase. Use the offered numbers to find out more.
To authorize a declined purchase
If a Debit Mastercard® purchase is declined as a security precaution, you will receive a notification of an attempted charge.
If the charge is legitimate, tap Authorize and have the merchant put the charge through again.
If you do not want or recognize the charge, tap Deny. If the charge was fraudulent, use the provided numbers to contact Client Services. If you believe your card may have been lost or stolen, elect to lock your card using the Lock Card link at the bottom of the window.
To lock your Interactive Brokers Debit Mastercard
You can lock your card from the Charge Attempted screen using the link at the bottom of the screen. You can lock and unlock your card from the Authorize screen using the toggle switch.
